Woo 101

Last year, I went down a rabbit hole of spiritual teaching. I was super excited to find likeminded people who were into "woo," but I felt like a 9th grader in a master's-level course on all things magical.

These people would throw out terms like light language. Archetypes. Higher self. Numerology. Tarot.

And while some of those things interested me, I didn't have a fucking clue what the rest were. And I felt dumb.

Last summer I joined a phenomenal 9-month program called The Priestess Path, and there was a degree of that feeling like I still had so much to learn. But I soon came to the realization that we all have our different interests and levels of knowledge when it comes to the "woo."

WTF is Woo?

If you Google "woo-woo," you get this definition:

Unconventional beliefs regarded as having little or no scientific basis, especially those

relating to spirituality, mysticism, or alternative medicine.

It's a little negative. I've tried to come up with a better word to describe my interest in these things, but have decided (thanks Jen R) to reclaim a simple "woo." Witchy-woo, if I'm feeling spicy.

Woo to me is that of the unseen world. It's that feeling in your gut that something is a bad idea. Looking at the clock at exactly 11:11 every day. It's a sense that there is more to this world than the obvious.

What's your woo?

I speak with Goddesses. One woman speaks light language. Another channels a spirit of nature. Another connects with the Divine Feminine through her art. Another helps women have better sex by connecting with their Goddess nature.

We all have a way to connect with other realms. One way is not better than another, and you don't need to be a crackerjack tarot card-reading, astrology-spouting, psychic to get something out of all this.

Let's Break Down the Basics

I'm making it my mission to help you nervous freshmen feel good about dipping your toe into the woo, into the magical worlds we play in. I don't want you to feel intimidated or confused, so I'll keep writing some good introductory content like:

There's nothing scary here. Playing in the magical world is designed to help you connect with your authentic self and to feel more happy and whole. You will learn more about yourself and your amazing power to manifest whatever you want in life.

I would love to answer questions you have about all things woo. I'm not by any stretch of the imagination an expert, but I'll do my best. Leave a comment below if there's a topic you want me to dive into. You can also ask a question on The Goddess Magic Circle Facebook Group, where there are some amazing women, each with their own talents, ready to connect.
